Thanks so much for posting this address! I’ve been to Astoria 3 times and never managed to find the house! Even from Astoria column It’s hard to look out over the city and see that familiar outline. We drove all over the city but only had an hour to spend there each time. So at least now I know it wouldn’t have been easily found by simply driving all over. I’m going back again in Sept. and Will finally get my photo!!! : )))) GOONIES, NEVER SAY DIE! : )

Goonies never say die! I live south of Astoria on the coast. Astoria is a great city. so much history to it. try the Columbian for a movie night, the Voodoo Room for a drink, Fort George Brewery for a local beer, Blue Scorcher bakery for an organic goodie, the Elliot Hotel, and the Fisher-Poets Gathering for poetry and music…. and lots more to this jewel of a city….

I just luckily happened to be at the 25th anniversary of The Goonies in Astoria after sailing down from Seattle, crossing the bar and making my way up the Columbia River. I have to say it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I truly feel I was meant to be there. I too saw the house among many other Goonie sights. I’ll remember it forever! They also had a one night showing of The Goonies at a local one screen theater where Goonie fans packed in, ate pizza and had a great time watching a movie from the past.

Great to see so many other people with fond memories of The Goonies (I watched it again on TV last night (here in the UK). I hope to see ‘the house’ later this year – my partner is from Vancouver BC – so it shoudn’t be too much hassle for us.

You may also be interested toknow that Brownsville in Oregon was used for teh movie Stand By Me – i visited the town a couple of years ago and saw all the houses and areas used – they even do a SBM movie location map at the town.

I didn’t see anyone. I hope they’re not too annoyed. I think if you’re buying a house with a history like that, you’re kind of signing up for this sort of thing. That said, tread lightly and be respectful. No peeking in windows or messing up the yard!

I’ve been to Astoria before, but didn’t make it to the Goonies house. However I’m going there tomorrow and am not leaving until I do! Also, did you get a chance to at least drive by the Flavel House? That’s the house that Mikey’s dad is trying to put a flag up at in the very begining of the movie when the boys are racing home on their bikes. I don’t think it was restored and open as a musem at the time of filming, but it’s gorgeous now. I only saw the outside of it on my last trip but wont settle for less than a full tour this time ;P
