It's great! The guy who runs it (Jochen Schweizer, he does jumps all over Germany/Austria) is great. And it's a great reason to have a beer at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

Eek, bungee jumping! Way to be fearless, Olivia!

I'll definitely check out your blog, Ellen. Great idea of meeting people on location. I agree that it's not always easy finding a suitable travel companion to bring with you. Luckily, TB and I are a good team.

I really appreciate your blog entry. We've all had similar thoughts during our solo travels. I find I prefer to be with people much of the time when I travel, but I prefer not to bring those people with me from home. I'd rather meet them wherever I end up. The most memorable positive travel adventures I've had involve meeting new people and learning about their lives. Some of my strongest negative travel memories are of unpleasant incidents I've had with friends or boyfriends I'd chosen to travel with. It's hard to shut the door on someone who's living in your hotel room! Or just go home if they're bothering you. That's why I prefer setting out solo and joining groups of meeting people by talking to them as I wander around my desired destination. I write all about this on my Web site, boldlygosolo.com. Check it out. Comment and let me know what you think about these issues.

Some of my favorite travel excursions were solo (or started out solo). I don't think my boyfriend would have come along for the bungee jumping in Vienna if I'd have known him then.

Of course, the only other people that SAW me jump don't speak English, so the story is really only good at this point for article pitching and the occasional free drink...
